Such as today, when 222 of them voted for another anti-abortion measure and, as Rachel pointed out on her show, voted to do away with all the benefits for women in the new ACA healthcare act. Why are they able to get away with it?

Because their supporters are stupid and the Republicans in Congress know it. They know their supporters are trained like little white rats on a treadmill. They can throw out a little "abortion" crumb or some dog whistle of a racist charge and they jump on the treadmill and start running. They are automatic. Republican leaders no longer respect their supporters. They were put on this earth to be used in such ways.

Just mention the name "Sarah Palin" and you have their undivided attention. Just mention something that Limbaugh said and you have garnered their credibility. Say something nice about Ronald Reagan and you have their loyalty for a lifetime. These Republicans in Washington know how stupid Republican voters are and that is why they can get away with the crap they get away with and why they will continue to use these poor, mis-informed creatures in such a cruel and destructive way.

3. I think that we must also blame the apathy of the ordinary citizen.

There are so many people that really do not understand and are not willing to take the time to find out how much the war the republicans are waging against women and the middle class will affect them.

Over the last twenty, possibly more, years, we have let corporations ship all decent paying jobs overseas. We even gave them tax breaks to to do. We have rationed health care so that only the well paid workers and their families can get decent coverage. It is now official, corporations really are people, but not one of them has ever served time in jail for all the crimes they have committed, even when the banks and financial institutions looted and robbed us all blind. We have allowed unlimited money to buy most of our politicians and elected a bunch of right winged ideologues to control the highest court in the land. We have gone from abortion being a safe legal right for women to fending off the right to ban birth control. Sadly, there are millions of women that have no idea their reproductive rights are being threatened.

Now if you ask the people that have suffered the most from all this greed and corruption who is to blame, they often do not have a clue. Either that or they blame the "Muslim" in the white house. I do agree that the corporate owned media has done a good job of dumbing down the public but when will people realize that our country is in big trouble.

I sometimes wonder what the future will look like for our children. OK, and now I need another glass of wine.
