To all the people who think they are patriotic, but object to paying their fair share of taxes, patriotism is a word that simply cannot apply to you. Paying your taxes and doing what you can for your country; and doing whatever you can to help your fellow Americans, who may not be as fortunate as yourself; is what patriotism is all about.
Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. Those words are just as powerful today, as when they were first spoken by President Kennedy. It's a shame that so many of you have forgotten.

(4,982 posts)that Patriotism is supporting war and killing ie: "support the troops" who are fighting for our "freedom" in other parts of the world. But taxes? That's socialism! And only little people should have to pay them!

(5,178 posts)When Jesus was asked by some concerned citizens about what they felt was unfair taxation and what they should do he asked them whose face was on the money. When they replied Caesars face was on it he told them to give it back to him.
And as usual, they do the exact opposite of what the Book tells them to do.
