Michigan: Poll that put Romney ahead by one point in last poll, now has Obama up by 6 points

New Michigan poll puts Barack Obama back in lead

By Todd Spangler

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama appears to be back in front in Michigan.

On Tuesday, Lansing-based EPIC-MRA released exclusively to the Free Press and four TV stations a poll of 600 likely voters showing the Democrat, Obama, leading presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney 48%-42%. The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Last week, a Mitchell Research poll gave Romney a 45%-44% lead in Michigan, well within the margin of error, but several other recent polls have shown Obama ahead in the state -- which he won by 16 points in 2008. Rasmussen Reports had Obama leading Romney by 6 points last week, while Public Policy Polling put his lead at 14 points.

In EPIC-MRA's June poll, Romney led Obama 46%-45%, a statistical tie.

There is no way in hell that that many people changed their minds in the course of a week. I doubt Romney ever lead in MI.

My wife got a robocall poll the other day. I have no idea how she answered the questions but I know she deliberately answered them wrong. I get a feeling quite a few other people who are sick of political robocalls are doing the same thing.
