CDC can't mention global warming, even with increases in diseases because of it:

Illnesses from Mosquito, Tick, and Flea Bites Increasing in the US

Illnesses from mosquito, tick, and flea bites have tripled in the U.S., with more than 640,000 cases reported during the 13 years from 2004 through 2016.  Nine new germs spread by mosquitoes and ticks were discovered or introduced into the United States during this time.

These findings are in the latest Vital Signs report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is CDC’s first summary collectively examining data trends for all nationally notifiable diseases caused by the bite of an infected mosquito, tick, or flea. It provides detailed information on the growing burden of mosquito-borne and tickborne illnesses in the U.S.

“Zika, West Nile, Lyme, and chikungunya—a growing list of diseases caused by the bite of an infected mosquito, tick, or flea—have confronted the U.S. in recent years, making a lot of people sick. And we don’t know what will threaten Americans next,” said CDC Director Robert R. Redfield, M.D. “Our Nation’s first lines of defense are state and local health departments and vector control organizations, and we must continue to enhance our investment in their ability to fight against these diseases.”

The increase in diseases caused by the bite of an infected mosquito, tick, or flea in the U.S. is likely due to many factors. Mosquitoes and ticks and the germs they spread are increasing in number and moving into new areas. As a result, more people are at risk for infection. Overseas travel and commerce are more common than ever before. A traveler can be infected with a mosquito-borne disease, like Zika, in one country, and then unknowingly transport it home. Finally, new germs spread by mosquito and tick bites have been discovered and the list of nationally notifiable diseases has grown. Snip

In the NPR interview, they reported that one of the factors was longer warm seasons allowing proliferation of vectors such as mosquitoes and ticks. The scientist said they could use the word "warm".

I get bites (which I an allergic to) 6 months out of the year now. I attract the bugs and nothing helps. Last summer I took a photo and it looks like I have measles or chicken pox.

The moron's admin has cut the staff in all of its depts that have to do with science and research. Funds have been cut and remaining staff has been ordered not to publish any research which is in the public domain. They can't do research, they are being forced out of their jobs and there is no transparency. The US now has to rely on the research and studies from our allies in other countries. This has been going on since he was inaugurated.

on his ass, insisting no one invoke climate change, even though everyone knows it is part of the worsening problem. He just doesn't understand how civilization works, and he chooses to remain ignorant.

He has no interest in finding solutions. I guess maralago is swept by ocean winds, preventing mosquito infestations.

wants to own it, or leases his brand on it he doesn't give a shit about it. Now if the pandemic were named after him or an insect had his name attached to its wings he may give a damn for a nanosecond. The next killer storm should be named after him!

He was playing golf.

I only hope that the Rump contracts the same disease and he has to rely on Bornstein to treat it.

In the NPR report today. I'm sorry your uncle couldn't have been spared from this. Communities have to get focused about suppressing populations of these vectors.

The study of climate change and its relation to the spread of disease vectors is essential. Absent climate change data, we cannot accurately predict spread and, therefore, cannot determine the best course of action to control that spread.

I remember when West Nile was relatively new and limited to only a dozen states. I just looked at a CDC map, and the only states that do not have it are Alaska and Maine. Yet anything that could prove a correlation between climate change and the spread of a disease is taboo.
