Kellyanne Conways husband, lawyer George Conway, never shies away from a good chance to subtweet his wifes boss President Donald Trump.
And in the wake of Trump lawyer Rudy Giulianis stunning revelation that the president repaid his personal lawyer Michael Cohen for his hush money payment to Stormy Daniels, questions have been raised over whether that payment violated campaign finance laws.
Giuliani first made the revelation on Sean Hannitys Fox News sho Wednesday night, in an attempt to dispel allegations that the October 2016 payment made to silence Stormys allegations of an affair with Trump was in violation of FEC laws.
That money was not campaign money, Giuliani said. Sorry Im giving you a fact now that you dont know. Its not campaign money. No campaign finance violation. But then, on Fox & Friends Thursday morning, Giuliani indicated the payment had everything to do with the campaign:
Imagine if that came out on October 15, 2016 in the middle of the last debate with Hillary Clinton, he said. Cohen didnt even ask. Cohen made it go away. He didnt even ask.
In the aftermath of Giulianis interview, George Conway tweeted out a link to the FECs website suggesting the payment to Stormy Daniels violated campaign finance laws:

Replying to @gtconway3d
FACTS: Cohen was reimbursed by Trump does not eliminate Cohens knowing and willful (i.e., criminal) violation of the $2700 candidate contribution limit. Douchebags @gtconway3d 😉👆😉

This not only violates campaign finance law disclosure requirements, it also violates a criminal statute that prohibits making materially false statements to the federal government.

Giulianis statement that @realDonaldTrump reimbursed Cohen for the $130k payment to @StormyDaniels puts Trump on the hook for criminal violation of campaign finance laws. Violation is only criminal if knowing and willful. Trump reimbursement=Trump knowledge.

Once a prosecutor always a prosecutor, I guess. Giuliani just made the DOJs case against Trump and Cohen a whole lot stronger. 😂😉👆

😉I admit it. @RudyGiuliani is secretly working on behalf of #TheResistance. His retainer fee was paid by the Deep State. Sure, Rudys not the sharpest tool in the shed, but hes not THAT dumb. Clearly, everything he said on Fox News was INTENDED to hurt 🤡@realDonaldTrump.
