Have they been able to in the past?

(31,261 posts)Not all faith based organizations are bad, some have a non theological, charity based mission, the YMCA and YWCA are good examples, they often serve as second homes for poor urban kids during the summer and keep lots of them out of trouble.

(15,805 posts)Where's the money coming from? The House controls the purse and there's been no legislation to fund, or even open a new govt agency.
This is equal funding for All religions, right? The satanists, Muslims, native American beliefs, pagans, Jews, and Pastafarians will get the same share of the taxpayers dollars as evangelicals, does that sound like Trump?
What about us atheists who deeply object to diverting tax money into religious coffers at the same time the government is slashing assistance to the poor, and is unable to fund massive infrastructure projects, where's the complaint form?
This will end up in court, and once again, Trump will look like a fool for announcing another one of his half baked photo op stunts that skirts the law.

(146,285 posts)but there are supposed to be some strict rules governing that. Unfortunately, those rules are not well-enforced, so some of that money ends up promoting religious beliefs.
