I got a call from a number that Google and Call Notes identified as an insurance scam. But when it showed up on caller id it said "child molester."
Then I got another call from a suspicious number and it was identified as from Scammer McScammer.
Weird

(694 posts)Ignore is the best advice I can give you.
People have the ability to disguise who they are.
Pretty sad that some folks have nothing better to do with their time.

(32,633 posts)That's why I use caller ID - I never answer anonymous or fake-ID phonecalls. I think Verizon knows when somebody is trying to beat the "caller ID" thingie but they can't prevent such people from making the calls. So maybe it's Verizon's way of warning me not to answer.
Not sure of that, but I do appreciate the heads-up from Verizon.
Another great thing is that Verizon allows me to BLOCK up to 100 numbers, and I use all of them blocking the fake-ID spam calls.

My customers all text me. It is easier and faster and that way I have a written record.
I get some weird names on the Google calls but these crazy names are a first.
