The Denver Post is reporting that Colorado State University officials are investigating an event that reportedly took place during a campus tour on Monday, where two Native American men were taken out of the tour after a parent on that tour called in campus policethe charge? They were making her nervous.
Police questioned the men and allowed them to rejoin the tour, but by the time they were released, the group had moved on without them. The men then returned to CSUs Ammons Hall before leaving campus and going home to New Mexico. [...]
This incident is sad and frustrating from nearly every angle, particularly the experience of two students who were here to see if this was a good fit for them, university officials said in an e-mail to students Wednesday.
As a University community, we deeply regret the experience of these students, while they were guests on our campus, officials said.

(10,952 posts)1. If they got the campus police were called on them while
they were taking a tour of the school I sure has hell would not recommend taht they apply to that school. I can't see their experience getting any better.
I don't see why they were pulled out of the tour. A quick question or two should have determined that they were just there to see if the college was a good fit for them and whether or not to apply and then let them alone to continue the tour.
It it is getting so tiresome for people to see danger/conspiracy everywhere where there is none. It is sad that no on else in the group spoke up to keep the situation from going south.

(50,255 posts)2. The campus police should have told the parent to take a Valium.
If seeing 2 young men a shade darker than makes you comfortable causes a nervous breakdown, the place for you isn't college, it's a psychiatric facility.
