Having an opinion and Civil rights are NOT the same thing

Anyone is welcome to an opinion. You don't like gays getting married so be it - nothing in the constitution that prohibits someone from being a homophobic, racist, close-minded asshole.

What these homophobic, racist, close-minded asshole, so full of opinions don't get is this - they have absolutely NO rights to take away basic rights from 2 consenting adults who are in love and want to plan their future together - a future that allows them to provide for one another thru sickness & health til death do you part.

Opinions are protected in the 1st amendment but so are civil rights and equality.

And I honestly have no problem with what the Chick-fil-a guy said. He is obviously a religious man, and whoever asked him that question must of known that. He simply said that he believes in the biblical definition of marriage. He is entitled to his first amendment rights as well...And I do not believe he has done ANYTHING to make sure that Gays can not be married.

The thing is this - your right to an opinion doesn't stamp on anyone's civil rights. Unless there is a constitutional amendment protecting one's right to heartclogging food.

the problem occurs when mayors (the government) of major cities, decides to discriminate against you on the basis of your opinion. That is also a civil rights matter, specifically First Amendment rights.
