Let's discuss the "Trump economy".

Donald Trump is the epitome of the wealthy son that was born on third base and thought he hit a triple.

Obviously, the GOP wants to talk about the economy, the low unemployment rate, and a soaring stock market before the November elections. They want people to believe that all of it is directly related to the election of Donald Trump.

They love to brag about the lowest African-American unemployment rate in history. Donald Trump would have us believe that this is the greatest economy in history.

The fact of the matter is that they inherited the economy from Barack Obama. This is the continuation of the Barack Obama economy. The question that Democrats need to ask: How long will it take the GOP to destroy the economy that Barack Obama and the Democrats spent eight years in repairing?

Some facts need to be put into perspective. The Trump economy of 2017 had slightly less growth than the economy in Obama's last year. The low unemployment rate of African Americans is the lowest since records have been kept. However, 90% of the decrease in African American unemployment happened under Barack Obama. To listen to Trump and the GOP, one would think that Donald Trump did it all by himself. They will tell you that it was the huge taxcuts that are responsible for everything good in the economy.

However, the huge taxcuts were primarily for the 1% at the top. Those at the bottom that did receive a few dollars have seen it disappear in a whiff, with the increase in gasoline and healthcare costs, many are actually taking home less money today than the day that Donald Trump took office. This is the "Trump economy".

The Republicans are in the process of destroying eight years of getting our economy back on track. They have cut regulations that are good for Wall Street and the big oil companies but make our air and water much worse for all of America. That is the legacy they are running on.

1. Yes, Democratic lawmakers should be talking about this, the unsustainable tax cuts that

will lead to a trillion dollar deficit next year and a projected 2.4 trillion a few years after that. They should talk about the devastating effects of a trade war and the letter by 1100 economists warning that we are repeating the mistakes that lead to the great depression. They should talk about loss of confidence around the world in America and that tourism from abroad is already in recession, because people are fearful of Trump.

In the same way Trump and the GOP redefined Hilary Clinton as corrupt and incompetent, even though she was the most popular politician just a few years before, Democrats need to define Trump as a lying, reckless fool who was one of the work businessmen in the history of America and now being reckless with the economy.

These huge Republican deficits, created by their taxcuts, is going to lead to increased demands to cut our remaining social programs. They are extremely reckless.

But the more pervasive effect of the tax cuts is inflation, which may be extreme and unavoidable if the tax cuts aren't rescinded. The inflation, if activated, will cause a depression because there is no mechanism in the economic system for wages to keep up with inflation. This will cause a severe decrease in disposable income as a percentage of gross income. Since the US is a consumer-driven economy, if consumers can't spend, the economy dies. And this is now becoming inevitable, as Chinese and Asian imports will get more expensive just as consumers are denied disposable incomes because of the tax cuts and the coming period of inflation. Lots of hurt is right on the horizon.

won’t get it. They won’t even accept facts like 2+2=4, if it suits them. They darn sure won’t accept economic predictions.

Born on third and thinks he hit a triple is the typical wealthy republican. Ann Richards said this of poppy. That attitude is ordinary.

No, Donnie was born on third, thinks he hit a bases loaded home run to win the World Series, and insists you're lying if you dare to correct him.

and groaned about getting more oil etc. out of the ground here in the USA. Guess what they are doing with the oil? We're projected to be one of the biggest exporters of oil soon, and what are they doing w/ it? They selling it overseas and not here. Also, w/ RUMP in power, our dollar has gone down in value (10% or so)...another Wow RUMP effect that they don't talk about. So, if oil had cost over 50$ before, same amount of oil being produced today (or more as more US wells are brought online), it cost min. $55 on just the dollar exchange rate being 10% or so lower.

People sought 2nd jobs to supplement the Tax Cut that did not happen because many things cost more due to Trump's insane tarrifs? Gas prices are creeping back to $3 a gallon because Gas companies can raise prices as much as they want. If we want to go places, we must pay.

If we want to eat, we must pay.

If we do not want to go naked, we must pay.

So how is that Trump Tax cut working for ya?
