CNN and MSNBC 24/7 Trump channels

Sorry if this has been talked about previously.

I am getting fed up with watching CNN and MSNBC. Their shows, content, discussions, almost exclusively cover Trump.

True, they do sometimes (maybe rarely, depending on your level of cynicism) call out Trump and his minions on their lies. Even if they call out the lies, the coverage speaks for itself.

In the end, they are 24/7 Trump channels. Almost never do they allow anyone with an opposing ideology (Social Democracy, the Green Party, the Zeitgeist Movement, etc.) on their channels to discuss alternatives to Trumpism.

I guess the corporations that run these channels and their advertisers won't allow alternative ideologies any airtime.

Corporatism = Trumpism. CNN and MSNBC are corporations.

Maybe they occasionally call out the lies in order to fool the viewers into thinking they are responsible journalists.

Sorry for the rant.

We have to stay informed, but the overload is potentially dangerous, even if it is "bad" news for Trump. Trump's a showboat, and he thinks all pub is good pub, and he's been using that for years.

In their defense, they do take time out from all Trump all day from time to time when a good massacre comes along.

I've not seen them promote the donald and what he does. I feel they are showing trump as he is. A liar, a cheat, and in the process of trying to take down Rosenstein and Mueller.

Rachel is especially good at exposing what trump and the republicans are up to- and that's no good for the country.

I think you should actually watch the shows you're disparaging and get your facts straight.

I was thinking the other day that we're probably YEARS away from Trump not dominating every single news cycle and non-stop coverage day in and day out. Even if he goes down. Especially if he goes down.

The ultimate reality TV show. All Trump, all the time, everywhere you turn. The man is such a pathetic attention whore. How needy and insecure must one be at that age to have to dominate all the attention of the media.

I have never wanted anyone to disappear so much in my life.

that if RUMP goes, news cycle will go away from RUMP-dominated news eventually. However, the damage done from such a ill-informed decision making process undertaken by RUMP (all very political in scope, nothing to do w/ reality) will take some time to recover from.

If we have a GOTV, and win (so far looks good) we can start w/ efforts to repair damages. We don't even have to put in as much money because RUMP himself is the advertisement (in GOTV process for next election cycle). This is what will get RUMP big time...his own words. This is worth literally $millions to Dems.

The advertising that we do (DU and the like) would be to highlight the way too skewed tax cuts (83%==>1%ers), no health care for millions more, or costs have increased for millions more. Just keep hammering them w/ a couple of points, wham...wham...wham...etc.

What can they respond w/? They will try to redirect, but won't work, too many times 'WOLF!' has been cried by RUMP and his cronies in Congress. People aren't listening anymore.

In the meantime, we are countering w/ protests and disgust anytime something really stupid is said or done in the present world we live in, until after RUMP time. The protests do have some effect of perhaps tamping down really stupid things (I hope)...

to be in the limelight, front and center, at all times. Even if he is out of office, he will find a way to make everything all about him and the MSM will gladly comply because too many Americans love a reality freak show and he will just keep feeding them what they want.

I'm afraid the only time it's ever going to stop is when he is six feet under.

He wants to own the media and he will. Even if he leaves office after serving out his term, he will dominate the media. He will dominate election cycles as an expresident .
We will be Trumped for a long time and all future D candidates will be dealing with his ugly rallies as long as he lives.

6. For decades the corporate media conglomerates have been intent
Mon May 7, 2018, 10:56 AM
May 2018

on dumbing down the American People while turning Presidential Elections into Reality T.V.

Trump was in great part T.V.'s creation and a natural fit for the political/social environment created by the corporate media conglomerates long term efforts.

The CMCs; WANT to keep it personal as a means to avoid serious, in depth debate on the critical issues which affect AND unite the people but can be at cross purposes with media ownership or major sponsors' bottom lines.

So they're still playing the same game of Reality T.V. or Professional Wrestling election coverage keeping the "fans" operating predominately on an emotional level so as to crowd out reason from taking hold with the American People.

Thanks for the thread, Quemado.

It would be a relief to get that back (except for the missing girl's family). Not gonna happen in Trumpist Dumbfuckistan.

I think MSNBC is trying but SNL does it better.

Mon May 7, 2018, 11:22 AM

and CNN, MSNBC, et. al just work at harder at covering him and his minions trying desperately to prove that they're NOT "fake news" and that they respect Trump and will give him a "fair shake" and cover for and normalize him. It's really sad and pathetic to watch.
