I've decided that my white privilege is not enough.

It's not enough for me that I have been bestowed with advantages by this society since I was an infant. I have been treated better by teachers, by peers, by employers, by businesses, by law enforcement, and by random people I walk by on the street.

But I'm bored with that. So on top of all that, I require that any words that might be used to describe the perpetuation of centuries of violence, slavery, and discrimination that white people in this country have committed against black people and other minorities be forbidden from common parlance. For example, words like "whitesplain" or "wypipo". That hurts me deeply. It implies that many white people have a tendency to explain away their privilege and the corresponding discrimination that minorities experience.

Or, at the very least, for every term like "whitesplain" or "wypipo" that is acceptable, there must be a corresponding term like "blacksplain" or "blackpipo" that white people can use to discuss the massive problem we have in this society of privileged black people ignoring the consequences of centuries of repression that white Americans have suffered at the hands of black Americans.

I mean, fair is fair.

At least based on your first paragraph.

A lot of people are going to miss it, though, even ppl who agree with you.

Just for whatever it’s worth, about two cents, probably.

I'm gonna whump your poor ass.

Said to anyone that really irritated her - husband, sons, me.

And she did. And she had a double-barrel birdshot to make sure.

I like people that say what they mean, and then follow up.

Rather than the liars in the gov't right now.

The 14th Amendment was enacted to protect the rights of former slaves. Throughout the next century, the Equal Protection Clause was the primary, fundamental basis for removing barriers that prevented blacks from the full benefits of citizenship.

At the same time, it was also used to protect the rights of other groups - women, LGBTQ, the disabled, etc.

But over time, the EPC had been co-opted by the white majority, particularly white men - not only to protect their basic rights - but as a tool to fight back against the remedies put into place to ensure that the intended beneficiaries of the clause were not discriminated against.

So, for example, the attack on affirmative action is based on the the claim that it supposedly denies whites and men equal protection under the law. The right wing conservative courts have driven this and pushed it to absurd degrees, to the point that they consistently apply the 14th Amendment in a way prioritizes majority rights over minority rights and shields the majority from virtually any remedy that may protect or benefit the minority.

It's maddening to see the 14th Amendment turned on its head in a way that allows the very group it was enacted to protect us from seize and use it as a weapon against the people who most need its protections.

When a law is written it sounds pretty high-fallutin but it usually has lots of ways to weasel out.

Since the old/current way of writing rules favors obfuscation and hidden negotiations, I wonder if we can't start demanding that all regulations and laws be written in a public venue?

We don't all need to go down to the court-house anymore. And we don't all have to be scribes to record the transactions (or pay for the court versions.)

Putting all deliberations and actions that affect the public welfare in the public domain would make these processes much more transparent. Caveats for redacted PII/etc.

I'm white and very disgusted with the white folks who voted for trump. I think the years of brainwashing has brought us to where we are now. Those white repubs fear being in the minority. It's coming and they don't want to see a country that isn't majority white.

about health care, Social Security, education, childcare and safety nets.

We don't need no safety nets, by gosh, because everyone knows that the big Wall Street people can work together, but not us! Nope! We have to be rugged individualists and pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps! Yep.

So, I'm bored with that, and have decided that instead, I want to be the first person on my block to own an M1A1 Abrams Tank!

That's right. There is a whole field filled with hundreds of unused ones in Nevada. Ones the Army said it didn't need, but Congress STILL appropriated money for!

Heck, I want one! I can see it would be great in rush hour traffic.

That is a perfect wypipo saying, by the way, because we have never suffered the effects of invidious discrimination. White society can start playing the victim when they stop the victimizing.

We are all the Human race race is just a social construct race doesn’t really mean
Anything my black friend say this and that don’t let race divide us I don’t see color I do not understand why this is such a big deal can’t we all be friends I’m white and I’m offended I have a black relative...on and on and on

Thus, the veritable cachophony of noise when a white person gets the mildest of challenges regarding race.
