You see major examples of that on the Carol Burnett Show - frequently they would say one or two words of a line and stop because the audience was so loud, and then start the line over. I don't know if Alec was sure he could count on her to say the line again.

The reason why Trump has reaped the whirlwind is that this is not someone that fears he will ruin her reputation, as some women probably have been. This is about a woman that does not fear him. Stormy's history is an open book. He has paid untold amounts to keep his sexual history secret.
If this were an isolated incident (the Daniels affair) does anyone really buy the idea that David Dennison would exist?

Don't think Trump is alone in this. It fully illustrates the lifestyles of many rich men in the last century....probably longer.
