Who would be suicidal enough to continue a useless investigation, considering the hideous consequences? Say one word against Trump, go down in flames, to the cheers of many who really shouldn't be cheering. What a sad state for our poor country to be in.

It does not look like the replacement will be a Trump-humper; replacement appointed by state leg., which is Dem controlled.

That is to say, to the extent that any such investigation exists, of which I have no personal knowledge, it would continue unabated.

Schneiderman was working closely with Mueller and leading the charge to the close the double jeopardy loophole.

This is a big win for Trump.

That's done by a crew of deputy or assistant AGs. The AG himself is just the mouthpiece, and in a state the size of NY there are plenty of other people who know the case a lot better than he does.
