Mother, two children die in fiery crash after car strikes alligator in roadway, troopers say
Crash happened on Interstate 95 in Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS)
A mother and her two children are dead after a car struck an alligator in the middle of the road on Interstate 95, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Highway Patrol troopers said the accident happened at 12:49 a.m. Monday in the northbound lane of I-95 when the driver of a 2011 Kia Soul struck the alligator.
The car then ran off the left side of the road, hit a tree and caught fire, troopers said.
The driver and two passengers were killed. Amber Stanley, 24, her 4-year-old son, Jack and her 2-year-old daughter Autumn, from Callahan, Florida, died of thermal injuries due to the vehicle fire.
