to protect Israel from Iran nukes. Only Israel has nukes in middle-east. But it needs protection because it is a a small country surrounded by hostile neighbors.

IMHO, the primary reason Iran wants nukes is because they don't want to end up like Iraq or Libya. The primary reason we don't want Iran to have nukes is because we want to preserve the option to turn Iran into Iraq or Libya if we want to. Change Iran and North Korea and you have the same dynamic.

10. Libya & Iraq were different from Iran

Iran is already controlled by religious zealots. Libya & Iraq previously were controlled by dictators who can not be considered religious zealots. Now they are opposite. Therefore any change in Iran orchestrated by us can not be the same.

IMO it is all about preventing nukes in any country in middle-east except the only true democracy of Israel.

What I do not understand is why it is OK for Pakistan, India, NKorea, etc to have nukes but others can't? Pakistan has the highest number of people who supported Bin Laden and can not be considered a stable democracy by any stretch. NKorea is controlled by a despotic dictator.

if the other co-signers adhere to the deal, the US will have just isolated itself from the rest of the world

Russia and China will immediately develop closer relations with Iran, isolating the US even more

and the real possibility that Iran resumes its nuclear program exits, and dropping bombs on Iran, or worse, invading Iran will be a complete disaster as was the invasion of Iraq which helped create the Iran situation

in anticipation of Trump's ending the Iran deal. Putin and the psychopath have probably chosen Hillary or Obama as the target of their oil price propaganda, but they might surprise us.

Only when these policies and half-baked ideas start effecting the bottom line for the Trumpsters themselves will blinking and winking begin. Wedge issues are effective in getting the traditional knee-jerk reaction at rallies and campaign events.

But seriously hitting people in the wallet? That's something else altogether.

Stubbornness and stupidity is a toxic mix. It will take a shock to the system and a bruise to individual livelihoods for many of these people to change their minds on Don the Con.

Was just reading an article about the crabbing industry on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The whole industry is in freefall because of Trump's restrictive immigration/lottery policies. The crabbing industry has traditionally relied on Hispanic pickers. Right now, their workforce has been depleted and the crisis is affecting all crab-related business: the people who make/sell traps, nets, equipment, local businesses that rely on the crabbers, including restaurants that feature crab menu items, etc., etc., etc.

Local residents who voted overwhelmingly for Trump are still not pointing fingers. But the season has just started and the economic pain is already effecting these communities. Add elevated oil prices and the disaster will only multiply. And then . . . minds will begin to shift.
