Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsYou know how you would watch a movie or a TV show with a wild and crazy plot....
.....like an action-adventure movie where the safety of the world is at stake, or a crime drama where the characters get in deep with the worst sorts of people....and then the movie or show ends, and there's that respite where you think to yourself, "Well, that was some crazy stuff. Oh well, back to the boring world and my boring life".....?
That used to be the case.
You used to be able to breathe and relax and enjoy fiction because it was not as insane as the real world around you.
Not anymore.
Now, you finish watching an exciting movie or TV show and you want to relax, but then you realize that Donald Trump is President. Donald F***g Trump. If someone 15-20 years ago had told you that Donald Trump would one day be President, you'd laugh them off.
But there he is. He's the President. (At least in terms of title.....not like he acts the part or anything like that.)
And not only is Donald Trump the President, he's quite possibly the worst President the country has ever seen. Breaking agreements left and right, insulting allies, appointing incompetent and corrupt people to drive government agencies into the ground, acting a fool on Twitter on a daily basis.
And worst of all, not only is a monumentally horrible President, but it turns out his election was aided in good part by conspiring with the Russian government, hacking information, laundering money, mob connections, paying people off left and right, blackmail, obstructions and cover-ups......absolutely insanity.
I miss the respite.
I miss being able to separate fiction from reality.
Can we have that again soon?
