(7,725 posts)Considering it's going to connect everyone to the Paul Ryan Congressional Conference (R's only), where he openly discussed that everyone had to be quiet about the funding or win(?) and that it wasn't going to work if someone said something. Afterall, we're a family right?" Something to that effect. I'm the only one who saw this hidden phone film right after a political victory. I believe 2016.

(48,988 posts)Some DU members are blocked from seeing Twitter at work. For others it often saves having to click-through to see the contents.
msongs jostled the OP subtly and humorously to remind them.

Why isnt it a bigger deal that Michael Cohen was the deputy finance chair of the Republican National Committee while he was being paid by Russian oligarchs and big corporations? This is on the whole Republican Party.

(10,667 posts)Sometimes people will post the tweet 3 times, which makes the post even more unreadable. And why folks are reading and posting on DU while at work is beyond my understanding...

(10,721 posts)Why isn't there more attention being paid to how morally bankrupt the GOP is? That the GOP is still considered a major political party with viability only goes to show we are living in an insane society.

(63 posts)I really hate to say it, but it looks like it does not get more media attention because the creeps own the media. It really does seem possible that they might succeed in sweeping it under the rug!

(12,904 posts)That money flowed throughout all levels of the GOP campaigns in 2016.
They had to spend it. They would not leave that filthy money in their accounts for someone to find later.
They spent it like drunken Russian pirates, cause thats where it came from.

(15,219 posts)We all remember how PBS/NPR lost their independence through (Reagan's) political appointees. There was push-back and some sense that these "public" entities would be more fair. I don't know how really independent they are anymore. There are a lot of well-paid staffers/management that would feel a tug if their livelihood was threatened by a note from on high.
But I also wonder about all the smaller, seemingly not affiliated with secret payments/support. Of course that would include the one I'm typing into right now, but also many of those that feed DU and feed our opinions.
Just like the sense of trust that some of us had in Wikileaks (and RT!), we've learned to not trust anyone totally.

Senator Joe McCarthy (R) would have had a field day with that stuff and ended their careers in a heartbeat. (not that he was the benchmark for ethical actions)
