Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump: This Will End Badly. And Probably Soon. - by Rick Wilson

Giuliani knows Trump well enough to know that Trump will turn on him fast. Here’s a preview of how this is going to go in the coming weeks.

RICK WILSON
05.10.18 5:08 AM ET

Like a bloated, portly fake billionaire rolling off a hooker after a hot 45 seconds of passionate sex, Donald Trump’s ardor for Rudy Giuliani seems to have cooled.

If the White House leaks are any barometer, it sounds more and more as if Donald wants Rudy to get his money off the nightstand and the hell out of his room at the No-Tell-Motel. This is what happens when you work for Trump, and Rudy is old enough, crafty enough, and knows Trump well enough to have known better.

Trump’s hiring of my old boss is a triumph of today’s Trump-right media bubble, where nothing matters but the coverage on Fox and Friends, Hannity, Sinclair stations’ nightly Two Minutes of Hate, and on the nut-site constellation that comprises conservative “news” sites. Trump didn’t hire Rudy’s for skills as a litigator, or as a warrior in the high-speed low-drag social media world of today. He was hired to break shit and make loud noises, and he’s damn good at it. Unfortunately for Rudy, that probably won’t be enough to save him from the Trump curse.

Trump has been mostly unable to hire and retain top-flight litigators because he destroys everyone around him. His record of stacking former staffers like cordwood as they are either fired, humiliated, shamed, permanently scarred, forced to cut off a finger by the Yakuza, morally compromised, or moved into the Witness Protection Program will go down in Presidential history. It’s no secret that he’s a spectacular liar at all times and on all subjects, leaving his legal team constantly wary they have a client who combines a stubborn streak and a self-destructive nature with an endless capacity to lie to them about his marital, financial, and political lies.

Why would it start now? The complicit, spineless and supine rethugs are demonstrating that they don't give a shit, and to make matters far worse, the American voters are drifting away from the Dems, primarily because they're bored and finalizing their vacay plans about now. Add to that distillation of total horror, the Dems don't have an identifiable "leader" or message and there's no one on the national level that has captured anyone's attention for the foreseeable future. I don't know the questions asked in the polls conducted by CNN and others that have been presenting their results, but they're very ominous portends that any Dem can't afford to ignore.

Fri May 11, 2018, 03:33 AM
May 2018

because he always had the advantage of an army of lawyers and politicians to litigate the crap out of any case. The people who sued Trump were contractors, suppliers, tenants and such. They didn't have anywhere near the legal, political and financial resources it took to stand up to Trump's legion of lawyers. The vast majority of them vacated their lawsuits as soon as they saw the price that was going to be paid to continue. Those who did have the wherewithal to continue often settled out of court and were made to sign one of Trump's famous non-disclosure agreements. Trump did pay quite a few times, but no one heard about them because of the NDAs.

This time Trump is up against the U.S. justice system. They have more lawyers than Trump could ever dream of, and they're good lawyers, not Michael Cohens or Rudy Giulianis. The Mueller investigation also has more financial resources than Trump, so that's another one of his usual weapons not available in his tool box. Trump's net worth is so over-stated that if not for campaign contributions paying his legal fees, he might to close to bankruptcy right now, AGAIN!

This is uncharted territory for Donald Trump. He's always used his bluster and bravado to embarrass his enemies, to belittle them and wear them down psychologically. He's trying to do that with Mueller and Rosenstein, but it's a fruitless effort. They will not be bullied by someone they know is a stupid crook. In a battle of wits with Mueller, Trump is totally without ammunition. These guys are smart, and they've put away criminals 100 times smarter than Donald Trump. They usually dispense of people like Trump before breakfast, in lieu of a cup of coffee.

Trump is going to pay this time, and pay dearly. The fact that he is President at the moment ensures that. If he had lost the election and was not in such a prominent position he might have skated again. Not this time. Trump's ago might prove to be his Waterloo. Wouldn't that be such rich irony? All the things that actually made Donald Trump could finally destroy him. There will be dancing in the streets when Little Donnie Trump succumbs to his own folly. Count on it.

It is hard to imagine salvaging what is left of this fractured republican party. It certainly would have to be rebuilt from scratch. It is a far cry from my father's republican party.

This White House has a singular leaker at the very top, and by now you should know that 70 percent of the time when “sources close to the President” bitchslap you to the press, you can just strike the words, “sources close to” from the sentence. Trump is like some veldt animal at the edge of a muddy river, continually sniffing the wind for a scent; all he cares about is how the coverage reflects on him, so if he perceives even slightly negative tone, the people sacrificing their reputations for him go under the bus.

Add to that the crew of Jared and Ivanka, hard at work with their Lil Machiavels playset. They hate you because haters hate. Duh. Throw in Hapless Leaker, and dead-man-walking John Kelly, Kellyanne von Munchausen and the shitbird chorus on the outside of Trump’s political family and no one gets out of here alive.

To save yourself, you’ll make the mistake of trying to give him advice. Sensible, correct, legitimate advice. That’s the worst thing you can do because Trump parses counsel as critique and guidance as discipline. At that point, you’re dead, even if you’re too stubborn to lay down and start stinking up the place.

The magic of Invoking 911 isn't so much used up in Drumpf's mind, as it is totally ignored. He doesn't care. His entire set of criteria is very narrow - in fact, probably just one criterion: "What can you do for me, in this very moment?"
