I see this election as 1996 2.0

Remember back then?

Bob Dole. "It's his turn."

Clinton clobbered Bob Dole, and the GOP, led by "moral stalwarts" Newt Gingrich, Bob Barr and Tom Delay threw a tantrum, that culminated in the impeachment.

We're going to see this again.
Rmoney is going to get clobbered.
The GOP, led by the phony "moral leaders" will impeach Obama.
On what charges? Who cares! They'll make something up.

^snip^

In 1942, Dole joined the United States Army's Enlisted Reserve Corps to fight in World War II. Dole became a second lieutenant in the Army's 10th Mountain Division.

In April 1945, while engaged in combat near Castel d'Aiano in the Apennine mountains southwest of Bologna, Italy, Dole was hit by German machine gun fire in his upper right back and his right arm was also badly injured. As Lee Sandlin describes, when fellow soldiers saw the extent of his injuries all they thought they could do was to "give him the largest dose of morphine they dared and write an 'M' for 'morphine' on his forehead in his own blood, so that nobody else who found him would give him a second, fatal dose."[10] Dole had to wait nine hours on the battlefield before being taken to the 15th Evacuation Hospital, where he began a recovery that would take until 1948 at Percy Jones Army Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan (where Dole met future fellow politicians Daniel Inouye and Philip Hart). His right arm was paralyzed; Dole often carried a pen in his right hand to signal that he could not shake hands with that arm.

It was a cheap shot against someone who was injured while serving in this nation's military. I'm not crazy about the guy either but that was unnecessary.

I don't think Obama will beat Romney by as sizable of a margin, but I also don't think it'll be as close as '04 or as the media seems to think.

i would not be surprised if we took back the house... that would neuter Issa among others, unless they have a majority they wont have committee chairs.. would have a hard time getting a special prosecutor let alone trying impeachment..

Somewhat stiff party establishment challenger selected because he was seen as most likely to defeat the incumbent. I think Obama will end up with a similar margin of victory as well.

RobMe would be all but unelectable, if it were not for the "Citizens United" decision, granting the Repigs
unlimited anonymous money from any source.

Citizens United changed everything, and we can make no assumptions based on any previous elections.

The Repiglickins also did not have the kind of voter suppression/stealing machine they do now.

This isn't going to be easy.
