CHIHUAHUA FINDS 2 GIRLS LOST IN GEORGIA FOREST

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_ODD_HERO_CHIHUAHUA?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2012-08-02-07-28-56

NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) -- A Chihuahua is being hailed as a hero after authorities say it sniffed out two girls who were lost in a Georgia forest.

The girls, ages 5 and 8, disappeared Monday for a couple of hours when they were walking on trails near their neighborhood about 30 miles southwest of Atlanta. As police and firefighters began to search for the girls, neighbor Carvin Young grabbed his 3-year-old Chihuahua and joined the search.

There are never enough good stories like this to balance out the stories of bad people doing bad things to pets and children.
Thank you for putting a smile on my face this fine morning xchrom.

My chi-chi Chloe is such a sweet puppy. She can be gnawty as a rat & a yappy little brat but she's a good little guard dog & very affectionate not to mention adorable.

She is sweet as can be with me, but she hates everyone else. Yes, they are excellent guard dogs. I had a Rottweiler, but this Chihuahua was the guard dog. My son gave her to me when she was just 6 weeks old. He has a kennel and breeds Chihuahuas and French bulldogs. When I drive up to his house, I am greeted with a chorus of yapping dogs, mostly the Chihuahuas.

n/t. Sorry if I have offended anyone, but to quote someone famous (sorry, I have forgotten whom)

"The more I know of people, the more I love my dog".
