Your choice in campaign strategy if you're a senator in a blue state:

You know that the republican nominee is a personal friend of Donald Trump. Trump asked him to run. No experience in politics. Former CEO. Claiming in TV spots that he will vote "independently" from republican party where "necessary".

Do you:

A) Bring up his association with Trump in response to the claim of being an independent republican, or

B) Not bring Donald Trump into the campaign as it tends to rile the base, even in a blue state -- or even the out-of-state base?
