I still can't believe that a "caring husband" would coldly say that he would not be attending such an important event or even say he would "watch it" with compassion in his voice.

It's an interesting event and it is absolutely amazing to me how the rider and the team work together.

Ann Romney is a part time owner of one of the animals in the event.

LONDON (USA TODAY) — Rafalca, the 15-year-old dancing mare, made its debut here Thursday as part-owner Ann Romney cheered from the grandstand.

With her husband, Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, back home campaigning after a bumpy overseas tour on which he drew Britain's ire last week for questioning the country's readiness to host the Summer Games, Romney waved and cheered after rider Jan Ebeling guided his charge through a dressage routine of pirouttes, trots and passages akin to equestrian ballet.

Although Rafalca's score was not among the leaders, a grinning Ebeling said he was "happy" with the performance--his first as an Olympian.

Ann Romney was at the event while Mitt wasn't. To be fair, Mitt may far have more important things on his mind as he doesn't seem to be doing all that well in his bid to become President.

I will also agree that dressage is a sport that the vast majority of the 99% could never afford to participate in. Obviously very rich people like the Romneys will have a difficult time understanding the plight of those who lack their wealth. Yet of the two, I find Ann Romney by far the most admirable. She's faced a hard road in her life due to her medical issues. She expressed her feelings that her interest in horses and riding helped to enable her to deal with her problems. I refuse to criticize her as she is not running for President.

Mitt, however, is fair game. I still have a hard time understanding why the Republicans had such a weak field in their primaries and consequently Mitt might have been their "best" choice. It seems to me that they seriously believed that allowing Obama to win a second term and by refusing to cooperate with him the ecomony would never recover and they would be guaranteed to hold the Presidency for at least 12 years and possibly gain control of Congress.

3. Horses are on MSNBC right now.

I don't know when Felafel or whatever his thoroughbred is named will dance for the judges.

It looks like a contest of who did the best training.

5. I caught about 10 minutes of the dressage competition. I always thought that golf was the most

boring spectator sport.
