1 person tragically murdered in Paris, France via a knife, perpetrator was eventually shot and killed by police--Donald Trump makes a public comment within hours.
4 people tragically murdered in Nashville, Tennessee, United States via an AR-15 rifle, further casualties are avoided only due to the bravery of an unarmed man who manages to disarm the perpetrator--Donald Trump has been silent for 22 days and counting.
Funny how perceptions suddenly change where the perpetrator happens to be a foreign and apparently Muslim extremist with a knife vs. a crazy American white guy with a gun and the involvement of a black man who manages to save lives without having using a gun.

(7,808 posts)It sounds like you got it right.
We heard more from the IQ45 administration about the fictional Bowling Green massacre than the hero of the Nashville Waffle House.

(9,726 posts)He doesn't need to comment on tragic murders that take place in Tennessee. However, the opportunity to point out a knife murder by an apparent Muslim extremist was just too good to pass up. Extra points that it happened in France. Freedom Fries! Hurrah for U.S.A.! (but just barely)

(86,524 posts)He did berate the hero for not having a gun... his being black makes him unworthy of praise in the minds of imbeciles.

(3,568 posts)I no longer really know what to say about him. He's old enough for breakdowns and disease to come into the picture. The sooner the better. And, after all this time, the tens of millions who STILL support this piece of shit repulse me even more than he himself and they're going to be here long, long, after he's gone. This divide is pretty much here to stay. America has come out of the closet with this guy. The ugliness is out in the open now, and proudly so. There's still more good than bad here, but damn, the bad actually seems to be winning. And rather easily too.

(3,568 posts)Prolonged pain and suffering would be much more satisfying. The disfigurement and inability to speak would be a custom touch just for him.
I suppose it's considered immature and inappropriate (so tired of that word) to talk like this, but anyone who hasn't had a similar daydream at one time or another is either unimaginative or isn't paying attention to just how horrible this man is.

BTW, he will continue his twitter shit show after he's tossed from office, unless he's in prison.

(14,489 posts)is astounding every day. Almost every one of these events are crimes - nothing more, nothing less, and criminal minds usually exist in every segment of any society. In the past, when it was only newspapers and network news, most of these crimes would warrant only a footnote at best.
Now, they're splashed all over social media and the internet as a sick form of entertainment such that it's a miracle if suspects get a fair investigation and trial.
As some wise folks have said: One of our biggest problems world-wide today is the financialization of everything, including information.
Tommy, thanks for pointing out this very corrosive hypocrisy.
