Conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin of The Washington Post explained why the White House seems more upset over the leak than the insult to Republican Senator John McCain.
Rubin answered:
These are soulless people working for a soulless president. The President Of The United States doesnt have a purpose higher than himself and therefore the people who work for him do not have a higher purpose. They dont see themselves as custodians of the public good.
They are there to advance their own careers to, as you say, settle scores. Its all about a me-me-me philosophy.

(82,849 posts)She's not doing too badly nowadays, though I think she merits close scrutiny, particularly when she talks about the "how did we get here" aspect of things. Her opinion almost always absolves the media from any culpability.
That being said, she has certainly been on the side of the angels for some months.

(9,186 posts)is so upset over the leaking of the comment to the media.
They are not upset over the total tastelessness and soullessness of the "joke". Of course, when you work for a man who bragged about grabbing women by the pussy, brags about sexually assaulting women, name-call those who anger him and make fun of the disabled....you really can't be too concerned about a comment about a Senator who doesn't like Trumpenfurer anyway.

(90,762 posts)stab their co-workers in the back, but I get the feeling Trump sets them up to be that way too.
He makes them vie for his affections/attention - whatever. He encourages them to tear each other down to gain ground with him.
He treats them as contestants on his oval reality show.
