According to Nikki Haley, the moving of the embassy was not to blame for the violence.

how fucking tone deaf is this administration?

she blamed Iran and called the protesters terrorists.

we may never recover from this maladministration.

Massive protests were planned for today, May 15th, or Nakba, "Day of the Catastrophe." It is the day after Israel Indepence Day, however, that date is based on the Hebrew calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar. These two days falling this way, right next to each other, happens once every 19 years. So, that the administration picked yesterday for the official opening of the embassy, of all days, was just pouring fuel on the fire. IMHO, it was done deliberately to get the response they got. Their evil knows no limits.

The move was part of a pattern of denial by the US to the situation.

AIPAC has both parties in its pocket, even if the Dems get no credit for their obeisance.

A Clinton Admin. wouldn't have moved the Embassy, but they'd have blamed both sides for the violence.

Jerusalem should have remained neutral territory, due to its importance in all abrahamic religions. The embassy’s presence turns it into a “Jewish City.”

I heard someone of TV say that watching the split screen reminded him of British colonialism in India - one set sipping tea while Indians were being killed in the streets

Because it sounds like this was done like they do everything else, no planning or analysis of consequences.
