The former Minnesota congresswoman and failed Republican presidential candidate said she was sorry Sunday for her remarks three years ago about Jews and armageddon, reported the Times of Israel.
Personally, I know that in ignorance myself, I have stated things that I should not have said and I profoundly apologize and repent and ask forgiveness from Almighty God for my statements that, though said in ignorance, have brought pain, Bachmann said.
Bachmann told a right-wing radio station in 2015, following a visit to Israel, that intensifying violence in the region signaled the return of Jesus and called for mass conversions.
We recognize the shortness of the hour, Bachmann told Washington Watch, and thats why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can even among the Jews share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, Hes coming soon.

Motivation would be. Certainly not sincerity. Given the lies and proclamations she's made in the past, there is no conceivable reason for me to swallow this BS.

(23,946 posts)if you cross your toes and praise Jesus! And I mean ALL, as evidenced by their embrace of man with massive sinning on his hands. Oh well, he has "repented" also, maybe swore it over a Coke and cheeseburger...good enough!
What a religion!? Where do I join up? Let the sinning and the forgiving begin!
Lot of praising of Jesus among those folk I think.

(52,196 posts)it isn't "ignorance" to tell other people that their religion is somehow inferior and that your religion is superior for those other people.
it's "assholiness" is a better term.

(8,695 posts)Every religion and every faction (sect) of that particular religion, thinks that their particular slant on it is the one true way over every one else.
Its not new and its not ignorance, its their doctrine.

(52,196 posts)judaism, for instance, makes it actively difficult to convert to the religion.
while there are different views within any religion, the predominant view in american judaism is that other religions are just fine for other people, that's of no concern to jews.
i would say that many american christians feel similarly respectful of other people's religious views, but christianity does have more of a history of trying to convert others more aggressively.

(8,695 posts)EVERY religion thinks their version is the best.
With Christianity, converting people just happens to be an actual mandate of the faith, including all its sects.
I would say its very fair to say that the varied religious Christian sects in the US have little to no respect for each other. Most American evangelical Christians view all other sects of Christianity as cults or worse.
American evangelicals hold Jews, specifically Israel, in special regard as they believe them key to the end times (as noted in the OP) and the end times are a significant fixture in Christianity, an an almost obsessive desire for the world to end to be with Jesus that has been an ongoing theme in Christianity since the death of Jesus.

Aren't she and her fellow blasphemers so special with the invisible friend they are propping up as a creator of their universe to justify lies, thievery, and the debasement of everyone who doesn't belong to their special club.

(90,762 posts)of ignorance I am now coming from a place of faith, so you really need to know Jesus because the end is nigh.
Or the short version.
My bad. Jesus is coming. Look Christian.

(145,130 posts)There are a number of groups who believe that they can hasten the end times by doing this. The daughter of a good friend was targeted by a high school club because the club sponsor encouraged this view. This group targeted my friend's daughter and told her that she was being selfish by not converting.
The ADL got involved and that club sponsor changed tunes when he found out that he was going to be sued personally if this conduct continued.
