Amen

You don’t get to spend 8 yrs telling Barack Obama to “go back 2 Africa,“ calling his wife a “gorilla in heels,“ disrespecting his children, supporting evangelicals calling him the antichrist, & praying Psalm 109:8...

And now quote Romans 13 & tell me to “respect the president.”

Sharing a bit of what my ( now sold on Faux Noise narrative gay cousin) told me what GWB shared with him in his youth (he grew up in Midland)...
(paraphrased, I've slept since the 1970's, when he was sensible person) GWB: "Texas politics is easy, just use religious edicts to get away with whatever you want".

It's the complete opposite of mystical experience, spirituality, and social and spiritual justice. Concerned with justifying the status quo, being a voice for the dominant narrative instead of the voiceless, defending and justifying war (Remember the Land Letter?), greed, materialism, power, and more.

Evangelicals pretty much worship the abstract man-made constructs... Money, class (the 'right' class), race (the 'right' race), gender (as long as you are the 'right' gender), the Dow, etc. These are their gods.

They all claim to be the fountain of truth and the one way. Yet all the grandiose claims are based on pure unmitigated delusions without one shred of substantial objective truth. The founders of our nation were well aware of the fallacy of every religion and were of one resolve to not allow any religion to dominate the governance of the republic. The religious leaders all share one goal and that is to impose their dogmatic beliefs on the masses and create a theocracy in which with their superior knowledge with create a perfect society. The monument of this struggle has only left mountains of massacred throughout the entirety of the history of mankind.

Romans 13:
1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.
4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

And they have no problem with Confederate flag wavers, cretins who idolize a rebellion.

Quoting Romans 13 in reference to American politics is jumping through a lot of mental hoops.

This is what sold the faith to the ruling class of Rome.

Cool a religion that tells the slaves and the poor to pay taxes on time and follow rules?

Much better for our purposes than a squadron of squabbling Immortals who don't give a shit about what we do on earth...

You don’t get to espouse birtherism, call blacks lazy, spew anti-Muslim rhetoric, say black athletes are “sons of bitches,“ call Haiti & African countries “shit holes,” boast about being conservative Christians and then claim you’re... “tired of identity politics.”

If we do not find a GOOD, VIABLE, nominee for president, Donald J. Trump will be re-elected president of the united states. All this talk about Russia, religious leaders, the middle-east, etc doesn't matter if we do not get out to the polls in HUGE numbers and vote this man out. Evangelicals are nothing more than money hungry businessmen. They love trump because trump is giving them what they want--MONEY. They hated Obama for a reason and it had something to do with MONEY!! Money is what really motivates evangelicals (not the love of God--I don't think they even believe in God). Obama probably wanted these rich, wealthy evangelical churches to pay their fair share of taxes!! Especially if they supported or promoted political candidates and political agendas (liberal or conservative). All I know is that the kind of hatred I saw coming from so-called Christian evangelical leaders was not of God, the Son, or the Holy-Ghost--it was pure EVIL!!
