About NK, China and Biff

I admit I don't fully understand proxy wars and the various behind-the-scenes or even overt alliances, let alone how they play in with what's going on now with Biff. I'm hoping to be educated. I follow those in the know on twitter but there's so many moving parts now that I've lost track. (No doubt that's exactly what the bad actors are counting on; people tuning out because it's so complicated.)

To start, it seems to be widely accepted that China is behind the "warming" with NK.

What do you think was behind the warming between NK and Trump admin over the last month...what's China's interest...and what do you think is behind the sudden reversal, assuming Kim Jong-Un isn't acting on his own and is being influenced by China?

Do you think the revelation about China basically giving Trump $500M is involved in the NK reversal -- at least as far as the timing? Kim Jong-Un was likely only toying with Biff all along, but the timing is interesting to me. If the breaking news about the $500M spurred this change - causing China to pull back -- that seems significant in proving that sunlight being the best disinfectant may be involved.

But then there's the ZTE-Biff situation; I would think China would continue to at least want to seem amenable to working together with that possible deal on the table.

And how does Russia fit in with the China-NK situation? I realize both Russia and China want to be the sole superpowers; removing the US from the world stage is a uniting goal for them, but beyond that what are they potentially working together to do?

And then there's Iran. I understand Russia's interest in Iran and the ME, wanting to be the world's superpower re: oil, but where does China fit in with the complexity in the ME?

Gahhhhhhhhhhh

If anyone can offer clarity, even speculative clarity, I'd appreciate it.
