AL-GOV: Ivey Denies She's Gay

A little more than 12 hours after a state legislator suggested she was gay, Gov. Kay Ivey again issued a strong denial on Wednesday morning.

"There's absolutely no truth to it," Ivey said. "It's false. It's wrong."

Ivey posted a statement on the Twitter and Facebook accounts for her campaign to win election to a full term later this year.

The full statement from Ivey:

"This most recent personal attack against me is beyond disgraceful. It's a disgusting lie being pushed by a paid left wing liberal political operative. There is absolutely no truth to it. It's false. It's wrong. It's a bald faced lie. And I'm not gonna let them get away with it. Whether these attacks are malicious or ignorant or both - they represent everything that's wrong with politics today."

7. How does someone "prove" that they are not Gay?

Have 10 babies?, impregnate 20 women?

I am no fan of Ivey, but except for her blaming the left, she is right. My guess the attack is coming from her side, there is nothing a left leaning person can gain from such ridiculous behavior.

11. That was the point that I was trying to make.

I had a bisexual brother who was married and fathered three kids. I am straight, never married and childless. If someone called me Gay, I could not disprove such a claim. How would I, how could I?

12. There is more.

The person making the claim is the only elected official here that is openly gay. Not that it matters or is true, but the accuser threatened years ago to out other elected officials during the time Roy Moore was trying to stop marriage equality.

How this will matter is the ultra right republican Scott Dawson is going to use this against her along with the fact that she gave over 800k to a LGBT counseling group which was shut down at the end of last week and reportedly is going to get a visit from anow auditor. The stink from this may last 2 weeks which will last till the primary.
