The NRA is nothing more than a criminal organization.
Its time to dismantle it and make any pro-gun organization unable to donate money to politicians.

not hard to see the repukes drawing up their own list of organizations to ban. Planned Parenthood for starters.

(58,785 posts)Planned Parenthood's a perfect example.
Just sticking with the slimy NRA, though, it's a private organization that citizens choose to join of their own free will. If as an organization it's found guilty of sedition or officials are found found guilty of individual crimes, then they can be prosecuted.

(5,554 posts)The NRA's power is it's large vocal member base. They won't change their mind if the NRA vanishes. They'd just be spurred to greater action as banning the NRA would just feed into their paranoia

(3,208 posts)anonymously. I think that would clear up problems across the board. Then companies may not want to donate at all if they can't get personal favors. This may decrease donations and stop some people from running, but then we would end up with congress and state houses full of folks who want to do it for the JOB and not those perks.
I can dream.

(25,917 posts)We just want to ban organizations that promote ideas we disagree with.
What could possibly go wrong with that?

(8,747 posts)Probably The Second Amendment Foundation. The Gun Culture in this country is hydra-headed. You would have to Repeal the Second Amendment, and then the same states who support Gun Ownership will still have guns in their states.
The NRA is on the run, and gun control is now at the forefront of politics, and hopefully we will see some serious gun control after the midterms.
The young people are the correct track. We have failed, it is now up to them. They WILL outlive us.
