Mass shootings of schoolchildren and other innocent citizens is not a bug.

It’s a feature. It’s a deliberate component of the politics of cruelty and fear. It’s what in other contexts is known as terrorism.

We Americans are so used to seeing ourselves as special and protected that we can’t see the operation of this process in our own society.

We will be trapped in this endless argument until the end of time with gun nuts trying to justify that guns don't do that much damage and that the ARs are not the problem. One bullet fired and killing somebody is a fucking problem. The NRA has made us sitting ducks. It's scary that we live in a world now where we have to regularly undergo training for mass shooting scenarios.
