(9,291 posts)I remember that Vice Nazi ride along, it always begins with women, then race or any other thing.
Men claim it's not, they will bring up some bs logic, but it's about sex and they believe they should have sex with what they believe they should have. Animal husbandry classes might need to be taught in high school. Biology works for a reason, and you need lots of resources to raise a child. It factors into sex selection, even if you don't want a child.

(13,390 posts)Gene selection is the basis of the US eugenics movement that was used as a model for elimination of an ethnic group. Buck vs. Bell.... Carrie Buck was sterilized without her consent because of a presumed likelihood that her genes would produce degenerate offspring.
Women were targeted as potential mothers of genetic expressions of both parents. Particularly genetic expressions of race & pysical, behavioral, and intellectual defects. The application of animal husbandry was applied to humans through policy in the US. Nazi Germany used the same ideas to justify their hate and mission. What began as a partnership between the American Breeders Association and believers in genetic superiority led to genocide. The ideas behind it all have not gone away. Intentional gene selection is happening. I think animal husbandry policies should be left to non human animals.
BTW, eugenics was once taught in the US as advice for women.
Thus, we have done what has been suggested, and we should be cautious with ideas regarding biological superiority among humans

(14,483 posts)There's no way the fire marshal, much less the insurance actuaries will allow fewer doors. Egress standards are well defined science and carved in stone, primarily for escape of any possible fire situation.
More secure doors perhaps, but highly unlikely they will allow less.
The Texas politicians pulled this out of their ass.....

Louis CK either repeated it, without attribution, or said something so similar it was almost indistinguishable. I could probably dig up the video.

(63,221 posts)I guess this explains why. I am so sick of men and boys who feel entitled to women's lives and bodies.

(44,962 posts)She kept turning him down. She was the first person killed, so I am pretty sure that's the same girl the student believed to be shooter's ex-girlfriend.
Rodriguez says: "He kept making advances on her and she repeatedly told him no," but the advances got more aggressive.

(2,396 posts)looking at the memorial table at the community potluck.
I wonder if they are feeling scared it could happen to them next. I wonder what words their parents are using to reassure them.
"Jesus will protect you? I will protect you? The police will protect you? The teachers will get guns and protect you? I'll get you a bullet proof vest? It won't happen twice here?"
What do you tell your kid standing there at the memorial table while they watch everybody crying and hugging at the potluck because a bunch of kids got murdered at school again?

(5,210 posts)It needs to be.
Perversely, it reminds me of what the cops say when men kill their ex-girlfriends or estranged wives: no motive has been established.
What?? The motive is: If I can't have her, she doesn't deserve to live. And I'll take care of that.

(5,591 posts)but it is so deeply ingrained in a lot of males, we HAVE to address it and make those males accountable for it.
Some use bullying to combat it, some-denigration, some-very subtle patronizing, some-calculated campaigns of lies/character assassination but...way too many-use hideous violence.
Entitlement violence. Revenge violence. I-own-you violence. Sexual violence. Threatened by feminine strength violence. Controlling violence. Maim beat pummel kill violence. From weakness and insecurity comes the most vicious attacks, physical and verbal.
Those who practice it in any form are the biggest open threat to every female on the planet, every day.
We cant ignore it.
