to stand up for justice. Our Justice Department is being attacked from all sides.
What was the FBI supposed to do?
They were surrounded by Russians. They had intercepted calls from Russian officials to people in the Trump campaign and transition team. When the Trump team was asked about it, they all lied. General Flynn was fired for lying to the FBI but "lying to VP Pence" was the official line. Russian oligarchs, known to be involved in money laundering, seemed to be the primary advisers to Donald Trump? Paul Manafort volunteered to be the Campaign Manager and had that position when the GOP had its convention in Cleveland. He was in bed with the Russians and offered them information. Jared Kushner attempted to set up a secret, private line to Moscow, out of reach of the FBI, the CIA, and the US Government?!
What was the FBI supposed to do? Nothing? Just sit back and not even attempt to protect our country?
There were some very suspicious meetings happening with lesser-knowns in the Trump campaign, such as Carter Page and George Papadopoulos and the FBI used an "informant" to try and gather information. That seems to be the least they could have done? There was a very real threat to our national security.
Then, Donald Trump fired the FBI Director, James Comey. His Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, had to recuse himself, after he had lied to a Senate Committee. A Special Counsel was appointed to investigate. Trump tried to fire him, also.
So far, the FBI and the Justice Department have been doing a good job with the investigation, despite the lies, the distortions, and the deceptions created by Donald Trump. He has hidden the truth for almost two years as he has done his best to tear down our FBI, our Justice Department, and all our institutions. If he is not a Russian agent, he deserves an Emmy for playing one on TV.
It is time for Donald Trump to come clean. He should agree to an interview with Robert Mueller immediately. If he refuses, he should be subpoenaed. The time has come for action. Enough of the lies and deceptions.
Rod Rosenstein, Robert Mueller, and our Justice Department deserve our full support. They do not deserve the attacks from Donald J Trump.
The time has come.

(43,123 posts)Amazing he could write this piece, with valid points, and not mention NSA or CIA. He wants to split FBI counter-intelligence into a fourth agency? It's not an NSA function?

(18,964 posts)One of the worst incidents was at the "Platform Committee" meeting of the Republican National Convention where Trump was "coronated"...
If you remember, two members of the Trump campaign influenced the committee to soften the Republican Party's position on Russian Sanctions at the request of the the Trump reps who were in direct telephone contact with "someone" during the debate.
Direct quid pro quo...no doubt..and warning alarms should have gone off all over the country..
