Trump and the people trying to protect him will destroy themselves.

This is one the most serious investigations in our history. It is about an attack on America and a Whitehouse that joined the attack in order to gain power. The people running this investigation are not fucking around. They know how serious this is.

Trump and his people are attacking the investigators as their defense. That is like playing with fire. In their zeal to protect themselves they will commit more crimes, crimes that may approach treason, like outing sources. Trump may fire people which will set off a fire storm that will engulf Trump and his protectors. This investigation will not end no matter what Trump does. He is hoping he can convince the American people the investigation is a complete joke. That will not work.

In my opinion this can only end two ways. The rule of law ends in America and Trump becomes a self proclaimed king or the rule of law wins and destroys all of them. I believe the rule of law will win.

An old saying I recall. I think of this as I become impatient with the process.

It's likely a rewording of "Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small" (Longfellow 1845)
