1. Trump is using PR tactics to distort reality in his favor

Everything is a public relations problem to him. Lie enough and the problem will go away.

2. Trump found a gimmick that worked for him for years

Distract from his shortcomings by projecting them on others, but he uses it wildly and without reason. He considers himself the master of attack and counter attack, but his attacks often make no sense at all. He is like a stubborn child, using the same methods over and over again, because they worked in the past.

He shamelessly played the media for years, but somehow couldn't make the transition from a tabloid worthy New York tycoon to a world statesman. What worked in Trump Tower isn't playing well in the White House.

He was never bright or self aware enough to realize, he was really more of a media oddity all those years and the only person who took him seriously was Donald Trump.

At the rate he's going, he is going to run out of people to blame for all his screw-ups and crimes. And unlike Nixon, he is too stupid to know when to throw in the towel and quit.
