I'm going to a local Memorial Day outdoor service this year and I wonder what others are doing as well.

Yes.
My brother is grilling today and some of my SIL's friends and family are coming over.
I will definitely partake of cooked beast.
So the answer should be yes.

(102,225 posts)Sometimes I have to use much of the day to catch up, but I do always get outside and spend some time "considering"....
In areas that have had Memorial Day parades, I would go, but that has been quite some time ago.

(63,901 posts)Memorial Day weekend kicks off grilling season.
Just the two of us. Our best friend is in rehab post surgery or we'd have him over.
We'll visit him later in the week...

(10,167 posts)Many, many veterans in both of our families, including my husband's namesake lost flying reconnaissance in the South Pacific (flying a SDB Dauntless Douglass). His name is on the memorial both in Hawaii and the Philippines.
It's also our youngest child's birthday on the 26th, the baby was 34 yesterday! It's not only the kickoff of cookouts, but we've added corn-hole to our festivities!
