with and shopped with everyday, and no one detailing her and protecting her. I read this in a magazine article prior to the election. The article talked about what her average day was like. She dropped her son off and picked him up from school every day. School was within walking distance. Afterwards she shopped, had her hair done, or a massage for facial. She had lunch out with her girlfriends everyday. Their home in Trump Towers consisted of the top three floors of Trump Towers. She had her own floor. Trump had his own floor (which is what Stormie Daniels said about him sneaking her into his bedroom), and Barron had his own floor. When he sneaked Daniels into his bedroom, she asked him what about his wife, what if she caught them? He told Daniels that his wife had her own floor and never came on his floor. These people have to be the loneliest people in the world though I have no empathy for any of them except the young son Barron. Her parents live in a condo near theirs though the article didn't say it was in Trump Tower. She obviously despises Trump and wants to spend as little time near him as possible. She also has her own suite in the White House away from him.

As I recall reading when the Obamas were in the White House, an article that described the family quarters in there. Barrack and Michelle shared a bedroom suite on one side of the floor. The girls had separate bedrooms across the Living Room area on the other side of the floor. The Living Room area between the two sides of the family quarters floor was a vast open living room space that was used for greeting personal friends and guests when they had functions at the White House. Michelle's Mother had a room on the floor above them. Also I recall during the Clinton administration, Hillary had converted one of the rooms on the family quarters floor into a kitchen so that they could have a place for "normal" family meals to sit and converse about their day with their daughter. I don't know if the Obama's kept that room as a kitchen when they moved in or converted it back to whatever purpose it served before the Clinton's moved in.

I just didn't believe she would ever move to Washington since the focus of that article seemed to focus on how much she loved her life in New York.

She is likely either recovering from the kidney surgery, or simply in hiding due to the scandals around her husband. This country has a long history of expecting the spouse of the president to fulfill a certain role, even giving them the title of "First Lady." This might have made sense when women's lives were little more than extensions of their husbands'. But in an age of feminism and female presidential candidates, the very concept of "First Lady" is antiquated. Apparently, as early as 1999, just prior to marrying Trump, she DID say she would welcome becoming First Lady. So, this didn't come out of the "blue"... She DID work to elect her husband, including her embrace/dissemination of some pretty ugly Trump lies (e.g., birtherism) and promotion of his policies--so she IS a political figure, unlike her minor son.

It is a difficult balance between privacy and public right to know, but her basic whereabouts, I think is not so invasive as to expect. There are now few expectations of a first lady--as, I think there should be, but unless she wants to cede the title (and the substantial publicly-funded benefits that confers), then there is a minimum of public interaction/information sharing that that DOES warrant.
