The Latest: Judge Sides With Mueller Team in Manafort Case

A judge says special counsel Robert Mueller is correct to withhold certain information being demanded by lawyers for former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Mueller's lawyers had redacted information from two affidavits used to get search warrants in the Manafort investigation.

They said the information was withheld because it fell into two categories: names of confidential sources and details about ongoing investigations unrelated to the cases pending against Manafort, who is awaiting trial in Virginia and Washington.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson said in an order Tuesday that she had privately reviewed the two affidavits in question and agreed with Mueller's team that they didn't have to reveal the un-redacted information to Manafort's lawyers.

if the information is in no way germain to Manafort or his ability to defend himself, than there is no need for him to have it.

Did he ever make a ruling about whether Mueller has jurisdiction to handle the Manafort case over the EDVA?

A federal judge in Virginia on Friday postponed former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's jury trial on fraud and money laundering changes, moving the start date from July 10 to July 24.

In an order issued in federal court in Alexandria, U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III cited a "family member's medical procedure" as the reason for the change.

"Owing to a family member's medical procedure, the Court cannot begin the jury trial on July 10, 2018 as currently scheduled," Ellis wrote. "It is thus necessary to reset the trial."

It wasn't immediately clear to which family member he was referring.

P.S. Although this may just be a delay on that specific ruling
