he funded an ongoing kidnapping and actually paid to delay the release of american hostages.
that's kidnapping and treason.

Nixon even interfered with the Johnson Viet Nam peace negotiations before the 1968 election.

Had Nixon not interfered the war probably would have ended in 1968 - at a point where nearly half the Americans killed would never have gone to Vietnam. This while his campaign suggested they had a "secret plan" to end the war.
