But the person complaining is an idiot, don't give them any energy.

What a great performance by Gabby!

there were some tweets, apparently being a 2time gold medalist, and the first Sista in America to win this event don't mean shit if you have a messy bun to some people of color.

personally I think Gabby has a beautiful healthy thick head of hair. Wish my follicles were as strong and healthy thick and long as hers.

Bravo Gabby!!!!! You are inspirational!

her an idiot if she went for a stylish do when doing a gymnastic routine but some people are complete assholes and are complaining because she had her hair back in a pony tail.

Wow, just wow. I'm almost speechless which most of you here at DU know would be unusual.

The US citizen Gabby Douglas just won Gold in the All-Around and helped her team to the gold and we're talking about her freaking hair????

How many people are talking about Michael Phelps' hair? No, they are talking about how great he is and how he represents the best in US sports.

But when it comes to a woman, and an African-American woman at that, we talk about her freaking hair.

The zombie talking heads should be talking about how Gabby is so great (like Phelps) and how she will be an inspiration to girls and women all over the US. They should be trying to bask in the Gold she so rightly earned.

On days like this I just really hate my country and the people in it.
