Romney: Obama trying to limit military voters’ rights, calls Ohio lawsuit ‘outrage’

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/242231-romney-calls-obamas-ohio-military-voter-lawsuit-an-outrage

By Cameron Joseph - 08/04/12 03:12 PM ET

Mitt Romney on Saturday said the Obama campaign's lawsuit in Ohio to limit military voters to the same early voting dates as non-military voters was an "outrage."

"President Obama's lawsuit claiming it is unconstitutional for Ohio to allow servicemen and women extended early voting privileges during the state's early voting period is an outrage," he said in a statement posted to Facebook Saturday afternoon. "The brave men and women of our military make tremendous sacrifices to protect and defend our freedoms, and we should do everything we can to protect their fundamental right to vote. I stand with the fifteen military groups that are defending the rights of military voters, and if I'm entrusted to be the commander-in-chief, I'll work to protect the voting rights of our military, not undermine them."

Put out a fake story, then their ignorant little cultist lemmings regurgitate it all over the interwebs. The future is a scary place when we have citizens so willing to non-chalantly disregard things like facts, logic, and reasoning.

And spends millions in buys to air it from coast to coast. No PAC ad, either - one of them "I'm Willard the tool and I approve this ad" ones.

Since 2005, Ohio has had in person early-voting in the three days prior to the election. This year, however, the Republican legislature in Ohio eliminated early voting during this period, except for members of the military. The Obama lawsuit is attempting to restore voting rights for all Ohioans, not restrict them for the military or any other group. From the Obama lawsuit, filed in federal court:

Plaintiffs bring this lawsuit to restore in-person early voting for all Ohioans during the three days prior to Election Day – a right exercised by an estimated 93,000 Ohioans in the last presidential election. Ohio election law, as currently enacted by the State of Ohio and administered by Defendant Ohio Secretary of State, arbitrarily eliminates early voting during the three days prior to Election Day for most Ohio voters, a right previously available to all Ohio voters.

Where are your tax returns?

Don't try to bullshit us by suggesting you are concerned about our military personnel.

You're lying, and you know it. The lawsuit is to restore the early voting rights of EVERYONE in Ohio. They're trying to restrict it to non-civilians in order to restrict civilian voting. Who do you think you're fooling? If this is the brain child of your newly-hired crisis management PR flack, she owes you a refund ALREADY! P.S. Let's see your income tax returns!"
