Romneys spokesman, Ryan Williams, in an interview Saturday could point to no place in Obamas lawsuit that seeks to restrict the rights of military voters
Romneys legal counsel, Katie Biber, said creating two separate classes of Ohio voters does not violate the 14th Amendment, though she also did not offer evidence that Obamas lawsuit would make it tougher for members of the military to vote

(68,644 posts)Not mess at all with the military, just expand everyone else's ability to vote.
I have a very short attention span and need concise explanations.

(42,290 posts)And they know damn well military voters aren't.
They've been caught lying big time. And the media is noticing this time.

(575 posts)Mittens is their nominee. They have just discovered that, unlike Nixon, Mittens is too inept to tell a decent lie and get away with it. He is too self-important to back off or admit he was wrong. Therefore, the corporates must dump him in favor of a better GOP liar. What is quite funny to me is that they didn't see this coming. Those Tea-Baggers MUST be driving the train in GOP-ville. The lack of intelligence over there is becoming quite apparent. They seem to have mistaken bullying for smarts.

(904 posts)...remember the Time Magazine cover from over one year ago, showing Mitt as a Mormon missionary, (shirt/tie and all), and asking if the country was ready for a Mormon president? MSM has been in the tank for the Mittwitt for a long time...
I'm getting ready to place bets on who they'll replace the MittWitt with at the convention - perhaps they'll get on bended knees and beg for Crispy Creme Christie? I can see him waddling up to the podium, unvetted by the Democrats, accepting the nomination. With Marco Rubio or Paul Ryan as the fire-throwing veep nominee.
I think it's entirely possible now. My advice to the Repub convention planners - double-check the support columns under the stage and the podium.

This needs to get out there. It's so obviously false that people may get upset that Romney is using the military with this lie.

(50,555 posts)The claim Romney made that Obama is trying to disenfranchise military voters, can't be backed up.
But the claim the Senate majority leader made that Romney hasn't paid income tax for the last decade, can.

(5,342 posts)An article i read in Columbia SC newspaper (home of ft. Jackson and Boot Camp) said that veterans and military are war weary and supporting Obama. So I say let them vote early.
Don't have a way to link to the article.
It's also a myth that the military goes Republican. Anyway this is just a way to distract from the tax filing thing Romney doesn't want America to talk about.

(53,661 posts)But those with half a brain or a heart will heed this quote from Obama, which many have lived by long before he said it:
Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.

(2,390 posts)as had been the law of the land with no problems prior to him taking office. His change left in place the ability for military members to continue to vote 3 days early but took away that right for regular citizens to do the same. The lawsuit asserts, among other things, that two classifications of voters (military and civilian) is unconstitutional and seeks to have the right restored to citizens that the military retained when the law was changed. It seeks to let everyone vote 3 days early, not to take away the right of military members to do so.

(7,402 posts)They correctly state that people in the military need more time to vote. But they then conclude that they oppose this suit because if it is ruled unconstitutional under equal protection clause that the State may choose to reduce the military time to what is available for civilians, never mind that that is exactly opposite of what the suit seeks. It is something the Ohio legislature could do just so they could say that Obama forced them to reduce the time people in the military have to vote.
Obviously, the GOP prefers the chaos of 2004 where 8 hour waiting lines happened in Democratic cities to the orderly election of 2008. With chaos Bush won but with an orderly election Obama won.

(10,252 posts)There is no way in hell that Obama would EVER try to restrict the voting rights of the military. Obama has spent a lot of time courting the military vote, earning their respect, bringing them home from war FOR GOD'S SAKE, finding them jobs, supporting their families, etc. And that's not even counting all the effort that Michele Obama has put into supporting military families. I'll bet Joe Biden has something to say about this! Uncle Joe will be livid. Hope Joe burns Mitt's butt.
How could Romney make such a collasel blunder. Is this man such a narcissist that he just doesn't listen when someone tells him stuff, and just makes up stuff to fill in the blanks? Guess so. Romney is horrible candidate. Do you think the experienced GOP pols go home and vomit when they think about how awful Romney is?

(1,374 posts)The vast majority of people commenting there are calling Mitt out for this blatant lie. The few Mittwits commenting have nothing but blind agreement, attempts to change the subject and stupid tirades on Obama.
How can the Romney campaign just leave this blatant lie as a pathetic attempt to influence people even after they cannot even give any examples of what Mitt Romney's page is accusing of Obama?
The Romney campaign has basically admitted that this is a lie.
This has to backfire on this dishonorable campaign so people see just how blatantly dishonest Rmoney truly is.

(25,111 posts)to see what effing sticks and thats why Pres O's campaign need to be constantly vigilant. Remember John Kerry the war hero? By the time Kerry's campaign realized the lies were sticking it was too late. Go figure since W avoided the Vietnam war just like Mittens, Cheney and a whole lot of W's cronies, BUT, they convinced enough voters in believing their lies.
Unfortunately, Pres O's campaign must be ahead of the bullshit game, severely & seriously.
