Romney's Freedom to Pray Picture: Here is what I want to know....

If this picture (posted on Romney's Facebook page with the words: "Freedom of speech and the freedom to pray to if we so choose. LIKE if you agree that this is still America, land of the free and home of the brave.&quot :

Was replaced with one of these:

What would the response be?

And should we make up one of these later pictures with "We agree with Mitt Romney when he says: 'Freedom of speech and the freedom to pray to if we so choose is what makes America the land of the free and home of the brave'"? What would happen if we started sending around these images to Romney supporters with Romney's observation about prayer in America?

Just wonderin'

1. Don't you realize that 'murka is a Xian nation?

These people will not get it. I know, I've a few I get into to it with on FB.

They want to argue that America is a Xian nation and they should be free to spread their virus freely forgetting that the same freedom of religion they enjoy is a freedom ALL people should enjoy - including the right to worship whatever god/goddess/no god/tree or plant, they want to worship.

Their entire argument on every thing is their jesus and their cross. They conveniently forget that not everyone calling this country home is a Xian.

I'd like to see something like that created, I'd spread it around as much a possible but be prepared to bash back as they lash out like scared rats.

Btw, remember the photo of the Muslim woman kneeling behind the gravestone of a Muslim soldier killed in Iraq? THAT was and continues to be ignored by the right-wing bigots.

They should do....I submit his exact words.

Matt.6

[5] And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
[6] But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
[7] But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking

used to be one of my points in showing the hypocrisy of "religious" right wingers". The religious right is wrong. Jesus would not point out color or pigmentation in a human as something undesirable as some main stream churches still do. Under the surface, the doctrine of mormons still believe black people have no souls. And all the people who are going to vote for him are either willfully ignorant or tacit enablers of this point of view. PERIOD!!

If viewed from a biblical standpoint it is doing the bidding of the anti Christ...cause the anti Christ would want people to do the exact apposite of what Jesus taught....and on almost every thing he taught they do the opposite...in fact I am not sure they do anything like what Jesus taught....and it is not like they don't know...it is right there in the bible....which right wing preachers ignore almost completely.

And welcome to DU...

9. Never ever forget who killed Jesus
Sun Aug 5, 2012, 09:18 AM

It was the high priests, who condemned Jesus. Not the Romans; no, Pontius Pilate washed his hands of the whole mess. That's right, the religious hierarchy who could not tolerate either dissent about stupid restrictive laws, or any criticism of their money making operations at the temple. It was Jesus who chased the money changers from the temple. If you want to practice the teachings of Jesus, then feed the poor and heal the sick. Otherwise, religionists who try to suppress my right to be free of their bigoted hatred can just go to hell. PS: You don't need religion to be a good person.

17. How could anyone be prevented from praying?

I think Romney just made a spelling error. What he meant to say is the freedom to prey, not the freedom to pray. Whoops.
