Several People Reported Shot at Sikh Temple

Several people — including possiblly one police officef — have reportedly been shot at the Sikh temple according to police radio reports coming out of Oak Creek.

The incident reportedly occured about 10:45 a.m. Initial reports said there were four victims, and an active shooter. Mutual aid was requested from other departments to respond to the situation. More recent information is that between eight and 20 people have been injured.

47. This is not to excuse their behavior but IMO, they were under the impression that the...

...shooting was "over" early on. People who had been contacted by their relatives called in and the media put them on the air. From the live stream I was viewing up to a minute or two ago, the media still wasn't even sure if there was a standoff situation or not. WISN's helicopter and announcer were making a point of saying they were avoiding showing any police fortifications in case there was a standoff.

However, a caller had called in a while ago and said his sister contacted him after the shooting, had been inside, reported 4 gunmen and indicated that their motivation had been a hate crime to her. Anyway, he said she was talking to the FBI and he was trying to get more information from her. So, there's lots of confusion about what's still going on.

I believe the FBI/police are trying to find hidden people in the building but they're also not sure they won't find gunmen either.

Just piecing this together, FWIW.

...in the temple and they have no idea what to expect. People are actually coming out of the temple- however it appears that it's a pretty big place so there may be parts of the temple which are absolutely secured and other parts which may have hiding victims or gunmen, or both.

It's probably not easy trying to figure out which reports from the victims in the Temple are valid, and which are terror driven hysteria. There have been several "unofficial" and flat out wrong reports from people receiving messages from friends and family within. You have one person who is terrified relaying a message they've received from another terrified person. Accuracy isn't always assured.
