EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) Mitt Romney is calling for something dramatic to help the economy recover, but hes not saying exactly what.
The Republican presidential says he opposes another federal stimulus package and new government programs. He also says that if the Federal Reserve were to undertake another massive program of buying government bonds and mortgage-backed securities, with the goal of driving long-term interest rates even lower, it wouldnt help the recovery.
I can absolutely make the case that now is the time for something dramatic and it is not the time to grow government. Its the time to create the incentives and the opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses big and small to hire more people and thats going to happen, Romney said an interview aired Sunday on CNNs State of the Union.
Youre going to see that happen in this country but not under this president.

He thinks that with the aid of a complicit piss poor media and the collective stupidity of much of the American electorate that he can get away with this shit.

dramtic enough for you"
...those will "aid" the economy? I mean, these aren't mentioned in the piece. Romney is being as vague as possible to avoid scrutiny.

Accept the fact that you don't NEED record profits, or even near-record profits.
No one is saying you can't be rich, just that mabe it would be helpful if you get more rich a little slower.

Anything coming out of the Romney camp would be like selecting a red, ripe tomato only to find the bottom was flat, slimy and rotten.
Watch out.

and I think that he's right that we wouldn't see that happen under THIS President!

(2,208 posts)How about if you and all the other members of the 1% club, pay the full, top federal tax rate of 35%, and don't take any deductions?
That would be quite dramatic, it would help out a lot, and it would make the rest of us feel better about you. If you were to do that, setting an example for the other members of your club, it would go a long way toward redeeming you in the eyes of people who's jobs you outsourced. It would probably also buy you a lot of votes.
Of course, that ain't gonna happen...

Yes that works out so well we actually prevent wars with other countries or maybe it is because there is no need to wage war on the most armed 'rich' country in the world, so good in fact we have to go and start our own wars.

By giving defense contractors more money to fund our super duper military with assets that are still vulnerable to a little bit of ingenuity and a wish to kill.

Wars are good for the economy (especially if you're Haliburton, etc.) and the fundies will LUV it.

(2,916 posts)i am inclined to agree (as long as we are taking for granted the continued imposition of economics on the human race - and seeing as how communist revolution is not imminent it is safe to say the logic of the economy is not going anywhere) and so will the international bourgeoisie, eventually.
