Just a reminder: The Border is partly an intended distraction

The Border situation is horrible. It's a crime against humanity and Trump, Nielsen, Miller, etc. belong on trial in the Hague.

But also remember it's a distraction while Republicans do even more evil things behind the scenes. The House just voted on another bill to repeal the ACA and cut $2 trillion from Medicare and Medicaid.

It hasn't gotten any attention due to the Border coverage.

You know exactly who they'll come for next after the immigrants.

I don't think the word distraction should be used in this instance.

The house has tried to kill the ACA over seventy times. Maybe that is the distraction.

Nope. It isn't either. These are the fights of our lives.

himself. People love to claim Trump does things to distract from other things, but he doesn't. He's not a strategic thinker; he does whatever he wants right now without considering its effects tomorrow or ten minutes from now. Whatever else happens in the meantime would happen anyhow. All of it bears watching, and the fact that you even know about the House budget votes proves that it is getting coverage. I've also seen coverage of it. Stuff is gonna happen regardless of any other stuff that happens, and Trump isn't manipulating the timing of events. In fact, I'm sure he didn't expect the intense public reaction to the family separation policy at all.
