My mom had one of her periodic "spells" today.
In the ER they were asking the usual questions to check if she is aware of time, place, etc. When the nurse asked "Who is your President," she replied "I don't have a President." I assured the nurse that meant she was thinking OK. The nurse allowed he gets that answer a lot these days. I thought that was interesting in south Arkansas.

(62,407 posts)1. My MIL has been going through "spells" also
the first time they asked her that question she answered "that son of a bitch." She seldom cusses.

I've never heard her cuss to strangers. Now, when she's talking to me.....

(5,523 posts)4. Years ago my mother was asked similar questions during an evaluation.
She did OK until they asked her "What comes after July?" She quickly replied "My brother." They shook their heads but I had to tell them her brother's name was August.
