When I left the house for errands this morning

the Shell station down at the corner showed $2.79/gal

Upon my return home, I did a double take .... Two hours later gas had gone up to $2.96/gal!

(sorry, I edited post ... made huge mistake.....)

Bc gas has been 3.00 a gal for several weeks now. That's good though. Fill-up!!

I have a diesel-powered vehicle, but gas and diesel in the St. Louis metro area are hovering around $2.89-$3.19 a gallon now...

along St. Charles Rock Road. It always seems to run a little less expensive in that area for whatever reason. Between I-70 and I-170.

The first time I saw gasoline going for 50 cents a gallon, I was outraged. "That does it," I said. "You'll never catch me paying 50 cents for a gallon of gasoline." I turned around and left. I was going to wait out that station, until the owners came to their senses and lowered the price back to where it ought to be.
