13. The cost of these scientific endeavors

does not even APPROACH the amount spent on defense (illegal war and poorly designed jets, body armor, living quarters, ordinance, etc., ad nauseum). Defense spending represents 57% of our discretionary budget.

Consider also the vast amounts given to the financial 'wizards' who tanked our global economy. Most of those sociopaths should be in prison.
